Earth Squad

What It Means To Be An Earth Squad

Imagine standing on a beach, the gentle sound of waves filling the air. But amidst the beauty of the ocean, there’s a plastic bottle, a stray food wrapper, and pieces of tangled fishing line scattered along the sand. Or picture a hike through your favorite forest trail, surrounded by towering trees and the songs of birds, only to find discarded cans, cigarette butts, and other litter marring the landscape. For members of Earth Squad, scenes like these aren’t just eyesores—they’re calls to action.

Earth Squad is more than a volunteer program; it’s a community, a movement, and a commitment to our planet. Our mission is straightforward yet powerful: protect and preserve the natural spaces we all enjoy, whether by cleaning up a local park, a peaceful lake, a riverside trail, or a sunny beach. Earth Squad volunteers are everyday people with a shared goal: to leave our world better than we found it. You don’t have to be a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or environmental expert to make a difference; everyone is welcome. All you need is a willingness to help.

Start your journey by submitting an application to officially join Earth Squad. Once you’re in, you’re not just a volunteer; you’re part of a global community committed to making an impact. You’ll be connected to a network of people across the world, all taking steps to keep our planet clean.

Clean Up

Every month, Earth Squad members are encouraged to head out to a favorite spot, be it a city park, hiking trail, riverbank, or shoreline, and pick up litter. We’ve designated Impact Days where Squad members worldwide can coordinate their efforts, but you’re free to do more whenever you like. On these Impact Days, members often choose natural spaces where litter accumulates, especially near beaches and waterways. Our work on shorelines and in parks not only keeps these spaces beautiful but also prevents pollution from reaching our oceans and harming wildlife.

Track Your Impact

After each cleanup, log the amount of trash you’ve collected using our online Impact Form. This isn’t just for record-keeping; it’s a way to visualize our collective power. Together, our impact is magnified, showing how individual actions can add up to make a global difference. By tracking your results, you help Earth Squad measure and share the impact of our community’s efforts to inspire others.

The Heart of Earth Squad: Why We Do It

Being part of Earth Squad is about more than just removing trash; it’s about building a cleaner, healthier world for all. Here’s why our volunteers continue to show up, month after month:

  • Connect with Like-Minded Individuals: Earth Squad is a global family. When you join, you’re connecting with people who share your passion for the environment and your determination to make a difference. From sharing cleanup tips to exchanging stories of unexpected finds, our members are united by a common cause, whether they’re working on a remote beach or in a local city park.
  • Feel Good About Giving Back: There’s a deep satisfaction that comes from knowing you’ve made a direct impact on the health of the planet. With every piece of litter removed, you’re protecting wildlife, preserving ecosystems, and contributing to cleaner, safer outdoor spaces. Whether you’re picking up a single bottle on the shore or filling bags of trash from a trail, every action counts.
  • Access to Exclusive Gear and Discounts: Earth Squad values and appreciates its volunteers. As a token of our gratitude, Squad members receive access to exclusive Earth Squad gear at a discount. This gear is more than functional; it’s a badge of honor, designed to be worn with pride during your cleanups and as a reminder of the positive impact you’re making.
  • Motivation to Spend Time Outdoors: For many, Earth Squad becomes a reason to explore and engage with nature more regularly. Our volunteers tell us that cleanup days become highlights of their month—a chance to connect with the environment, experience its beauty firsthand, and make a tangible difference.
